‘CBS This Morning’ Shifts Senior Producers

By Alex Weprin

Following Ryan Kadro being named the senior broadcast producer of “CBS This Morning” last month, two other CBS News staffers are getting promoted.

Mosheh Oinounou, who led the show’s DC coverage, will be moving to New York to handle the evening shift.

“[By having him in the evenings] we will be better positioned to react to late-breaking news—ensuring CTM is as competitive as possible when we go on the air at 7am,” EP Chris Licht wrote in an email to staff.

In DC, Congressional producer Jill Jackson will assume “CTM”‘s political duties.

“Jill touches every part of this organization (crews, desks and producers from TV, radio and the web), all while booking guests, helping with scripting CTM and EN pieces and filing her own original reporting for all CBS platforms,” Licht wrote.

Licht’s full note, after the jump.

Team:

When we announced Ryan’s promotion, I noted that we are continually looking at the best way to put on a competitive, relevant broadcast. With that in mind, I’m pleased to announce two changes to the senior team:

Mosheh Oinounou is moving to New York to beef up our evening senior coverage. Mosheh has done an excellent job building an incredible team in Washington. Now, he will bring his enthusiasm and competitive spirit to some of the most vital hours of the broadcast planning: the evening. By adding Mosheh to the already strong team of Bob and Peter, we will be better positioned to react to late-breaking news—ensuring CTM is as competitive as possible when we go on the air at 7am. As anyone on the staff can attest to, Bob and Peter do an great job, while barely having a moment to breathe at night. An extra pair of hands will help all.

This move leaves big shoes to fill in DC. For that, we turn to a veteran of the Washington bureau: Jill Jackson. From NPR’s All Things Considered to her work at CBS News, Jill has covered Congress for nearly a decade. She’s an Emmy-nominated, rock star producer with tons of connections who lives and breathes politics. In fact, she was the first journalist to report the killing of Osama bin Laden.
In her role as Hill producer, she anticipates what the news will be and keeps CBS ahead of the ball. Most importantly, Jill touches every part of this organization (crews, desks and producers from TV, radio and the web), all while booking guests, helping with scripting CTM and EN pieces and filing her own original reporting for all CBS platforms. In short, she is perfectly positioned to lead our outstanding Washington team and help better integrate us with the larger bureau operation.
