CBS This Morning Reports on New Charlie Rose Sexual Harassment Accusations

By Chris Ariens

CBS This Morning found itself reporting on former host Charlie Rose once again, following The Washington Post’s five-month investigation in which 27 women over four decades claim Rose harassed them.

The Post story was published at 6 a.m. Jericka Duncan‘s report in the 8 a.m. hour did not shy away from reporting details about the show’s staff, including what executive producer Ryan Kadro, did, or did not do, about one staffer’s situation.

Former CBS This Morning employee Brooks Harris left to work at Rose’s PBS show where she says she experienced a number of unwanted sexual advances and comments. She claims she was encouraged to take the job by CBS This Morning executive producer Ryan Kadro. The Post says Kadro’s former assistant allegedly reported concerns to Kadro about Rose’s behavior. Kadro denied being warned about inappropriate behavior and says he did not encourage her to take the job with Rose.

Gayle King did not hold back following Duncan’s report:

“I feel sick to my stomach,” she said. “When the story first broke, I said Charlie was my friend. I still consider him a friend. I know that’s probably not the politically correct thing to say this moment. He’s gone. He’s not coming back to CBS News. … You can’t ignore what these women are saying. That’s also part of my anguish to know women were hurt,” King said, adding, “I’m sick of handling it. I want us to move forward, do the best job we can.”
