morning show anchors_640The only morning show adding viewers, CBS This Morning, just had its biggest week in 22 years.

The longtime No. 3 breakfast show topped the 4 million viewer average, which hasn’t happened since the week of Feb. 28, 1994. CTM was up +16 percent in viewers and up +4 percent in the demo compared to the same week last year.

Both Good Morning America and the Today show are down year-over-year. GMA, which was No. 1 in viewers for the week, lost -10 percent of its viewership, and -14 percent in the A25-54 demo. NBC’s Today show, which was No. 1 again in the demo, was down -7 percent in viewers and down -9 percent in the demo.

The big CTM week comes ahead of CBS’s airing of the Super Bowl on Sunday, coverage of which includes Gayle King‘s interview with President Obama.

The averages for the week of Jan. 25:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.043M / NBC: 4.877M / CBS: 4.018M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 1.792M / NBC: 1.813M / CBS: 1.192M
