‘CBS Sunday Morning’ Posts Highest Ratings in 20 Years

Osgood“CBS Sunday Morning” kicked off 2014 with a bang: the Charles Osgood-hosted show delivered 6.53 million viewers on January 5, its largest audience in nearly 20 years (since 1/23/94) and its sixth-largest audience since the advent of people meters in 1987.

As usual, the show was the top-rated Sunday morning newscast among both total viewers and the demo. Compared to the same day last year, “Sunday Morning” was up +8% in total viewers and +7% in the A25-54 demographic.

Last week’s show featured Rita Braver’s interviews on yoga with Hilaria and Alec Baldwin, Ben Tracey’s profile of Sara Bareilles and Tracy Smith’s interview with Mary Matalin and James Carville.
