CBS Sunday Morning Grows Audience

By Chris Ariens

While the weekday network morning shows struggle to grow their audience, CBS Sunday Morning with Jane Pauley continues to see viewer growth.

Last Sunday’s show was watched by 6.22 million viewers, nearly 2 million more than the 4.36 million NBC’s Today show (the No. 1 weekday morning show) averaged last week.

That’s up +2 percent vs. the same Sunday last year. Sunday Morning averaged a 1.2 rating in adults 25-54, ahead of its season average of 1.1.

Sunday’s show featured a mix of stories including Oprah Winfrey’s interview with several of Hollywood’s leading women, who opened up about the Time’s Up campaign. Also, Lee Cowan interviewed actress Sharon Stone, Mo Rocca explored the process of gerrymandering and Nancy Giles reported on her collection of exercise gadgets purchased through TV commercials.
