With CBS News execs feeling good about the changes — and growth — at the “Evening News,” work continues on the rebuilding — quite literally — of “The Early Show.” TVNewser first reported last week that the third-rated morning broadcast is moving from the GM building along tony 5th Avenue, to a new street-level studio at the CBS News Broadcast Center on Manhattan’s West Side.
Now, the network has posted a new job with a familiar title: Supervising Producer. The new supervising producer will be responsible for boosting production value, shaping the look and feel of the show, and they will work with multiple departments in an effort to integrate and maximize CBS News assets: a personal mission of David Rhodes, as he outlined in this memo not long after he took over as CBS News president.
Batt Humphreys who continues as interim EP of the show and Chris Licht, hired away from MSNBC in May to be VP of Programming at CBS News, are heading up the search.
