CBS Sunday Morning won the coveted Outstanding Morning Show prize at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Sunday night. The network won a second prize, as CBS This Morning won Outstanding Technical Team.
The awards aired on Pop and were hosted by Tyra Banks in front of a sold-out crowd at Warner Bros. Studios Stage 16. The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live with Kelly and Michael and Entertainment Tonight were among the other winners.
Regis Philbin made an appearance, Matt Lauer and Ellen DeGeneres‘ prank war continued and Betty White was given a Lifetime Achievement Award. Joan Rivers was honored and they even played her emotional speech from the 1990 awards.
CBS’ morning shows have been hot, as CBS This Morning: Saturday also won a James Beard Award recently for The Dish segment.
