CBS is Most-Watched Broadcast Network For Midterms Coverage

In addition to online coverage, each of the Big 3 broadcast networks produced one-hour primetime midterm election specials at 10pm.

According to Nielsen overnight time period data, CBS was the clear winner at 10pm. CBS averaged 5.367 million viewers, to NBC’s 4.270 million, and ABC’s 3.507 million. All three networks dropped from their lead-ins. CBS lead the way at 9pm with a repeat of “NCIS,” averaging 11.7 million viewers. NBC was second with sitcoms averaging 4.6 million and ABC was third with 3.9 million watching “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”

All three networks also lost viewers from their first half hour, to the second. We’ll have final broadcast and cable ratings later.
