CBS’ Greenfield: “Senators Pick Governors and Governors Pick Senators”

TVNewser’s Diane Clehane was compiling her weekly Lunch at Michael’s columnn for FBNY yesterday when CBS’s Jeff Greenfield “happened by.” The political talk was already ongoing at table 7 when Greenfield weighed in on a potential Clinton/Obama ticket.

“No way, says this veteran political commentator. Says Jeff: “Strip away the race and gender issues, and it’s a senator from New York and a senator from Illinois. Senators pick governors (for their running mates) and governors pick senators. They can’t win with that. It’s two blue states.”
