A few tipsters noticed some updates to the CBS Evening News set. One wrote, “There’s now a scoreboard-like set of monitors suspended above the center of the newsroom behind the anchor desk.” Another added, the “hanging plasma screens sort of look like the overhead thing in a sports arena.” (Maybe the influence of CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus?)
The monitors and desk are part of CBS’ election set which will get its first big workout on Super Tuesday. The desk can accommodate several correspondents/guests as well as anchor Katie Couric. (Harry Smith, pictured below, filling in on Evening News last night.)
