Bianna Golodryga Has Decided to Leave CBS News

At the top of the 8 a.m. hour on Monday’s broadcast of CBS This Morning, John Dickerson stated on-air that Bianna Golodryga, who had been on the show for the 7 a.m. hour but was no longer present, had left the program due to jury duty.

That jury duty turned into a permanent absence from the program…and the network.

A CBS News spokesperson confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Golodryga has left CBS entirely. “Bianna Golodryga has decided to leave the network. We thank her for her many contributions during her time here at CBS News and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”

These statements come a day after HuffPost reporter Yashar Ali reported Golodryga was out.

She will keep her role as CNN contributor, and is a versatile talent who has on-air experience in morning TV and as a business and finance TV newser.

Golodryga has worked in national television news since 2001, starting out as a CNBC producer. She left CNBC for ABC News in 2007, joining the network as a business and finance correspondent. Then-ABC News president David Westin gave her the co-anchor job on Good Morning America Weekend in 2010, a role she held until 2014. She left ABC News for Yahoo News in 2014, where she became news and finance anchor. In addition to working at Yahoo, Golodryga occasionally joined the Morning Joe panel as a guest co-host.

It was her work at Yahoo News and Morning Joe that seemed to have caught the eye of the powers that be at CBS News (pun intended). The network brought her on as a full-time New York-based correspondent in September 2017, and her first assignment at the network was reporting from her hometown of Houston, covering the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Golodryga filled in for Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell on a number of occasions before being named co-host of CBS This Morning on a permanent basis in October 2018.

And here we are six months later…
