CBS Adds Dir. Of Career Dev./Diversity

CBS News is adding a director of career development and diversity recruiting. Crystal Johns will begin the job on Oct. 16, the network announced today. She will report to Linda Mason.

“Most recently, Johns was a coordinating producer for Allen/Nee Productions (1999-2003). Before that, she served as special projects manager for WJZ-TV, the CBS Owned station in Baltimore (1992-99).” Click continued for the rest of her bio…






“At WJZ-TV, Johns was also the executive producer of the daily live talk show, “People are Talking” (1987-89). Before that, she worked as a producer for “Good Day” at WCVB-TV Boston (1984-86). She had worked previously at WJZ-TV as a producer and booker for “People are Talking with Oprah Winfrey and Richard Sher” (1982-84). Johns began her career as assistant public relations manager at WJZ-TV (1981-84).

Johns is the recipient of numerous Emmy and National Association of Black Journalists awards.

She was born in Baltimore, Md. Johns was graduated from Simmons University in Boston in 1976 with degrees in communications and management. In 1979, she was graduated from Loyola College in Baltimore with a master’s of business administration. Johns and her husband live in Connecticut and have one son.”
