Canada to Host 2015 Women's World Cup

The awarding of the 2018 and 2022 men’s World Cup was a farce and a sham). In stark contrast, giving Canada the right to host the 2015 Women’s World Cup went off like a dream. It helped, probably, that no one else bid to have the tournament in their country.

Zimbabwe, which was the only other nation competing, withdrew on Wednesday citing a lack of infrastructure.

FIFA also awarded the men’s U-20 tournament to Turkey in 2013 and New Zealand in 2015.

Germany will host this summer’s women’s World Cup. Presumably, their infrastructure is intact.
