Campbell Brown Goes There With Plagiarism Question

By SteveK

CNN’s first Campbell Brown-moderated debate started calmly and respectfully between the two Democratic candidates, but just before 9pmET, a question by Brown touched off a string of strong responses. Brown asked Sen. Barack Obama about the alleged plagiarism in some of his speeches, to which Obama called is something arising from “the silly season” of politics. Sen. Hillary Clinton did not believe it so silly: “Well, I think if your candidacy is going to be about words, then they should be your own words.”

After a commercial break, multiple attempts by Brown and questioner Jorge Ramos were ignored as the candidates sparred freely on health care.
