Cablers Cover SpaceX Launch

At 10:43 AM ET, SpaceX–a private space company–successfully launched its Falcon 9 Rocket with the Dragon Capsule into orbit. SpaceX is looking to enter the potentially-lucrative business of space cargo, bringing satellites, equipment and even people into space at a fraction of the cost of NASA launches.

With the NASA Space Shuttle program about to end when Endeavor makes its final launch in February 2011, the U.S. government is looking for new ways to bring cargo and astronauts to the International Space Station. Russia will fill the gap in the interim.
