Cable Program and Network Rankers: Q2 2011

Fox News Channel exhibited its usual dominance over the cable landscape in Q2 2011, finishing fourth in all of cable in primetime and seventh in total day. FNC also had the top 12 shows in cable news in the second quarter, topped by “The O’Reilly Factor” (2.824M/636K).

MSNBC was 26th in all of cable in primetime, with its top-rated program,”The Rachel Maddow Show,” finishing as the 13th cable program in total viewers and ninth in the demo.

CNN was not far behind MSNBC, at 28th overall in primetime. “Anderson Cooper 360” was the network’s top performer, finishing 18th overall and 10th in the demo.

Boosted by her coverage of the Casey Anthony trial, Nancy Grace placed 17th in total viewers, ahead of all HLN and CNN programming. Her show was ranked 15th in the demo. HLN ranked 33rd overall in primetime.
