Cable Network Ranker: Week of March 28, 2016

After a lengthy streak as cable television’s most-watched network in total day, Fox News Channel fell to No. 2 for the week of March 28 behind Nickelodeon. FNC averaged just over 1.1 million total viewers for the week, while Nick hauled in an average of 1.2 million viewers. Nickelodeon still holds the record for most consecutive weeks as cable’s most-watched network during total day at 23 (Jan. 6 to June 15, 2014).

Adult Swim (1.07 million), HGTV (950,000) and TBS (864,000) round out the week’s top five most-watched in total day.

Fox News finished the week No. 3 in average total prime time viewers behind No. 1 TBS and No. 2 AMC. Armed with Final Four action, TBS averaged 2.4 million total prime time viewers last week, followed by 1.9 million for AMC and 1.8 million for Fox News. HGTV (1.7 million) and USA (1.5 million) round out the prime time top five (P2+).

CNN ranked No. 9 this past week in average total prime time viewers (1,244,000) and No. 10 in total day (689,000). CNN also finished the week of March 28 as the top prime time cable news network in the news demo of adults 25-54 (417,000).

MSNBC ranked No. 13 in average total prime time viewers (965,000) and No. 17 in total day (549,000).
