Cable Network Ranker: Week of March 12

There were some primary contests last week, but it wasn’t quite as “super” as “Super Tuesday,” and the result was slightly depreciated rankings among the cable news channels for the week of March 12-18.

As usual, Fox News Channel was the top cable news outlet for the week, placing 5th in primetime and 8th in total day with 1.7M and 959,000 viewers respectively.

MSNBC placed 22nd in primetime with 831,000 viewers and 26th in total day with 464,000. CNN placed 33rd in primetime and in total day, garnering 571,000 and 360,000 viewers, respectively.

HLN placed 39th in primetime with 360,000 viewers, and 41st in total day with 245,000. Current TV placed 87th in primetime and 94th in total day with 72,000 and 31,000 viewers, respectively.

Among the business networks, CNBC placed 50th in primetime with 227,000, and 48th in total day with 187,000. Fox Business Network was 88th in primetime with 67,000 viewers, and 80th in total day with 66,000. Bloomberg TV is not ranked by Nielsen, and hasn’t been since it launched in 1994.
