Cable Network Ranker: Week of April 9

There wasn’t much movement among the various cable news channels ratings-wise for the week of April 9. Fox News Channel was the #3 ad-supported cable channel in primetime with 1.89 million viewers, behind only USA and History. In total day FNC placed fifth overall with 1.12 million.

MSNBC placed 24th in primetime and 27th in total day with 787,000 viewers and 455,000 viewers, respectively. CNN placed 35th in primetime with 530,000 viewers, and 33rd in total day with 391,000.

Current TV placed 92nd in primetime and 94th in total day with 37,000 and 27,000 viewers, respectively.

As for the business networks: CNBC was bolstered by–of all things–NHL playoffs games, placing it 48th in primetime and 55th in total day, averaging 254,000 and 148,000 viewers, respectively.Fox Business placed 89th in primetime and 83rd in total day with 48,000 and 58,000 viewers respectively. Bloomberg TV, of course, is still not rated by Nielsen, and hasn’t been since launching in 1994.
