Cable Network Ranker: Q2 2013

Fox News Channel was the top cable news channel for the second quarter of 2013, placing third in primetime and fifth in Total Day among all ad-supported cable networks. CNN was 27th in primetime and 21st in Total Day, and MSNBC was 30th and 33rd, respectively. HLN was 34th in primetime and 29th in Total Day.

Current TV, which will become Al Jazeera America in coming months, placed last in both primetime and Total Day among all cable channels, below Nielsen’s minimum accuracy threshold.

For the business networks: CNBC placed 53rd in primetime and 58th in Total Day, while Fox Business Network placed 89th in primetime and 88th in total day. Bloomberg TV hasn’t been rated by Nielsen since it launched in 1994.
