Cable Network Ranker: Fox News Finishes Week No. 1 in Prime Time and Total Day

Fox News Channel is the most-watched basic cable network for the week of July 4th, both in prime time and total day. This marks the fifth consecutive week at the top spot in prime time. FNC was up 52 percent in total prime time viewers, and up 54 percent in total day viewers compared to the same week in 2015.

Additionally, FNC claimed eight of the ten most-watched cable telecasts of the week with The O’Reilly Factor delivering the most-watched cable telecast of the week, edging the Euro cup final on ESPN by 100,000 total viewers on Sunday.

Elsewhere in cable news, CNN was the No. 11 basic cable network of the week in total prime time viewers, and No. 6 in total day viewers. The network was up 65 percent in prime time and up 99 percent in total day viewers compared to the same week in 2015.

MSNBC was the No. 13 in total prime time viewers, and No. 14 in total day viewers. The network was up 42 percent in prime time, and up 57 percent in total day viewers compared to the same week in 2015.

HLN was No. 46 in total prime time viewers, and No. 36 in total day viewers. The network was up 2 percent in prime time, but down 4 percent in total day viewers compared to the same week in 2015.

Fox Business was up 71 percent in total prime time viewers, and up 54 percent in total day viewers compared to the same week in 2015.

HGTV was the second-most-watched basic cable network in prime time last week, followed by USA, History and TBS. Nickelodeon was the second-most-watched basic cable network in total day last week, followed by Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and HGTV.
