Fox News Channel was No. 1 in prime time and No. 2 in total day viewers among all ad-supported cable networks for the week of August 31. FNC averaged 1.86 million viewers between 8-11 p.m. ET, finishing first for the fifth consecutive week. The last and only time the network was No. 1 in prime time basic cable for five straight weeks was during the network’s coverage of the Iraq war back in 2003.
CNN finished No. 37 in prime time and No. 21 in total day, while MSNBC ranked No. 24 in prime time and No. 27 in total day.
ESPN, HGTV, USA and TBS join FNC among the Top 5 in prime time viewers.
