It appears there will be at least one Republican presidential primary debate for 2020.
Business Insider announced today that it will be hosting a debate on Sept. 24 between the first two candidates to announce that they’re challenging President Trump for the Republican presidential nomination: Former Illinois congressman Joe Walsh and former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld.
The debate will air live on Business Insider Today, a daily news show on Facebook Watch.
The publisher has also invited former South Carolina governor and congressman Mark Sanford to participate. Sanford announced his intention to run for the presidency on Sunday. His main focus is on lowering the nation’s debt, deficits and spending.
BI says that President Trump was also invited to participate but has not responded.
