Bush in Primetime: 36,600,000 Viewers

Following up on this afternoon’s cable ratings for Bush, USA Today says: “President Bush’s Oval Office address regarding the war in Iraq attracted a total of 36.6 million viewers Sunday on four broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) and three cable-news networks (Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC).”

> Update: 10:25am: “Among the broadcast networks, CBS was the clear winner for the speech, which aired from 9 p.m. to 9:21 p.m. EST. CBS’ coverage averaged 11.6 million viewers, far and away the most of the networks. ABC’s coverage of the speech garnered 9 million viewers, with NBC coming in third with 7 million viewers and the Fox Broadcasting Co. getting 5.4 million viewers,” THR adds…
