Broadcaster Turns Down Interview With Prince Charles

By Chris Ariens

Britain’s Channel 4 News chose not to interview Prince Charles due to strict interview demands from the royal household.

According to the Guardian, Channel 4 News “felt that it could not conduct an interview under such terms, which included a 15-page contract full of limitations and restrictions.” Channel 4 anchor Jon Snow (above) was to conduct the interview Sunday in Paris, ahead of the climate change conference.

“The issuing of broadcast contracts is standard practice across the royal households,” said a spokeswoman for Clarence House, the royal’s residence. “No media organization is under any obligation to approach the Prince of Wales for an interview or enter into a contract negotiation.”
