Brian Williams Leaves Medal of Honor Foundation’s Board

Suspended NBC “Nightly News” anchor and managing editor Brian Williams has resigned from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation board of directors, according to a message on the foundation’s website. Williams had served the position since 2006.

Williams steps down from the board a week into his six-month suspension from NBC News. The foundation does not mention any specifics regarding Williams’ resignation.

The board of directors includes a variety of CEOs, Medal of Honor recipients and business leaders. The foundation’s mission is to perpetuate the Medal of Honor legacy, raise funds and promote American values of courage, sacrifice and patriotism.
