Later this morning, CBS News president Andrew Heyward and CBS Digital Media president Larry Kramer will announce…something. CBS hasn’t hinted about the subject; all we know, according to the invitation, is that “breakfast will be served.”
Obviously, they’re not unveiling the new CBS Evening News. (We’ll know all the details at 9:30am, when a press release comes out.) Perhaps the announcement relates to this redesign of CBSNews.com, which suddenly appeared online late Monday night:
Click the screenshot to see it full-size, or point your browser to CBSNews.com. The site takes advantage of additional screen real estate, and features prominent links to podcasts and RSS feeds. I like the large center photo, and the “web exclusives” on the left side.
> June 23: “You’ll see us morph our news business into a web-centric one,” Kramer says. “We’re doing what we call the cable bypass. The web is going to be our cable news network.”
