Bob Simon’s Funeral Tuesday at the Met

Bob Simon finished one of tonight’s “60 Minutes” reports the day he died.

Simon’s story called “ZMapp,” on the development of a drug to combat Ebola, will air tonight on the show. His daughter, Tanya Simon, is the producer of the story. We also learned this week from Simon’s colleague Lesley Stahl, that Tanya Simon is pregnant. Bob Simon, who died Wednesday night in a car accident, said in an interview last year that he was done covering wars, because he’d become a grandfather.

Simon’s funeral will take place Tuesday at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Simon was passionate about the Opera and had reported on the reinvention of the Met in 2013. Here’s a preview of tonight’s story:
