Bloomberg Shows Will Be Livestreamed on Twitter

Several Bloomberg TV shows are going to be livestreamed on Twitter, the second such agreement in as many days for the social network.

Bloomberg West, What’d You Miss?, and With All Due Respect can now be viewed live on Twitter. Bloomberg is not publicly rated by Nielsen and is unlike other cable news networks that have agreements in place preventing unauthenticated live streaming of regularly scheduled programs, which could siphon viewers away from pay TV. A livestream of the network can also be viewed on Bloomberg.com.

“We continue to invest aggressively in innovative distribution models in order to deliver the most critical business and financial news and information to our audience of busy, on-the-go, global executives,” said Bloomberg Media CEO Justin B. Smith in a statement.

“Partnering with Bloomberg will give people on Twitter the best way to see live financial markets performance combined with the live commentary on the underlying drivers and implications,” added Anthony Noto, Twitter’s chief financial officer.

Boasting a global audience of over 800 million people, the media company’s main Twitter account, @business has about 3.25 million followers while @bloomberg and @bloombergtv each have around 400,000 followers.

Just yesterday, Twitter announced it would live stream CBSN coverage of the RNC and DNC.
