CNN will turn to Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper–along with the Empire State Building–to headline the network’s election night coverage, dubbed “Election Night in America.”
The network will begin coverage at 5 p.m. ET, with Blitzer and Cooper joined by CNN’s Jake Tapper and John King, who will take his usual spot at the “CNN Magic Wall.” Election night analysis will include political analysts Gloria Borger and David Gergen, and CNN correspondents Dana Bash and Candy Crowley. Other commentators taking a seat around the table will be Michael Smerconish, Paul Begala, Jay Carney, S.E. Cupp, Stephanie Cutter, Newt Gingrich, Van Jones, Kevin Madden, and Ana Navarro.
CNN also plans to “take over” the Empire State Building, which will be used to display U.S. Senate vote results. As Senate results are projected, a vertical LED-illuminated “meter” atop the building’s spire will indicate with either red or blue. Once one of those colors reaches the top of the spire, control of the Senate will be indicated.
CNN International will broadcast CNN’s coverage of the midterm elections starting at 7 p.m., and at 9 p.m. ET, CNN en Español will provide Spanish language coverage, “Voto Latino 2014”, anchored by Carlos López, Patricia Janiot and Fernando del Rincón.
