Blake McCoy, weekend anchor and reporter for NBC station KARE in Minneapolis, is joining NBC News.
McCoy, who has been with KARE since 2012, will initially be based in the Los Angeles bureau, “but expect to see him working from other bureaus as well,” writes NBC News SVP David Verdi in a note to staff. “We know Blake’s breaking news experience and passion for smart storytelling will be a great fit with our all-star team of correspondents.”
Before KARE, McCoy worked for KTNV in Las Vegas and KBOI in Boise. He graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science. KARE shared the news on Twitter this morning:
