Bill Whitaker’s First ’60 Minutes’ Story Covers Familiar Territory

Bill Whitaker’s first story for “60 Minutes” last night was on a topic he’s quite familiar with: Mexico’s drug war.

“That was sort of my bread and butter when I was in Los Angeles,” Whitaker says in this “60 Minutes Overtime” profile. Whitaker, who has reported more than 2,000 stories for CBS News, spent nearly 21 years as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. He found no shortage of stories along the U.S.-Mexico border. WATCH:
