CNN’s Bill Weir, who was host and executive producer of The Wonder List, will narrate a marathon of videos from CNN’s digital platform Great Big Story, on HLN next weekend.
The 2-day, 8-hour “Weekend of Wonder” is presented by Wells Fargo with limited commercial interruption. CNN says it will take viewers “around the globe to visit wondrous places and introduce the trailblazers, innovators and risk-takers that inspire us to see the good in humanity.”
“Wells Fargo and GBS share a vision of providing a powerful platform to tell human interest stories that are bold, break through, and make a statement, and Weekend of Wonder is a new way of bringing that to life,” said Uyen Tieu, general manager of Great Big Story.
Launched 3 years ago as a start-up with CNN, GBS has produced more than 1,600 stories, with more than 2 billion views, designed for mobile consumption. In fact, 80 percent of the audience watches on a mobile device. Bringing GBS to HLN will bring the stories to a new, linear audience.
