Bill Plante Retiring From CBS News After 52 Years

He has covered the last 5 U.S. presidents, but Bill Plante won’t be around to cover the Trump White House. The legendary CBS Newsman is is retiring after 52 years with CBS News. Plante has covered every presidential race since 1968, has reported from all corners of the world and, in 1965, he interviewed Dr. Martin Luther King on the march from Selma. Last year he returned for the 50th anniversary.

Both Face the Nation and tonight’s CBS Weekend News acknowledged Plante’s five decades of service today.
