Bill O’Reilly Has Big Ambitions for ‘Killing Patton’

By Brian Flood

Billy O’Reilly‘s books-turned movies Killing Jesus, Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln were each huge successes for the National Geographic Channel. So it only makes sense for O’Reilly’s latest novel, Killing Patton, to be turned into another film for the jointly-owned FOX/National Geographic network, right?

Well, maybe not. It seems the Fox News host has bigger plans.

We caught up with National Geographic Channel CEO Courteney Monroe at today’s upfont event in New York City and asked her if the network plans to work with O’Reilly again.

“We don’t have anything in the pipeline right now with him. He has one book out, Killing Patton which he is hoping to have a theatrical release for,” Monroe said. “I have made it very clear to him on numerous instances that we would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.”

The premiere of Killing Jesus set a ratings record for Nat Geo last month, averaging 3.7 million total viewers.

More from from the advertiser upfront for National Geographic Channel and NatGeo Wild coming up later today on Adweek.
