Bill O’Reilly ‘Apologizes’ For Health Care Prediction

By Alex Weprin

Earlier this year, Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly said that he would apologize and call himself an “idiot” if the Supreme Court upheld President Obama’s health care law. Not surprisingly, many O’Reilly critics put that segment in the bank for future “claim chowder.”

Well, the Court did uphold the law, though it was as a tax, not under the Commerce Clause. On his program last night, O’Reilly addressed the matter with Bernard Goldberg:

“I’m not really sorry, but I am a man of word, so I apologize for not factoring in the John Roberts situation,” O’Reilly said, noting that he didn’t predict the tax argument. “I may be an idiot for not considering that.”
