Longtime Fox News contributor and editor and publisher of The Weekly Standard Bill Kristol has joined ABC News as a contributor, “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos announced on Sunday morning’s show.
“I’m looking forward to being part of the ABC political team,” Kristol said in a statement. “There’s certainly plenty to talk about!”
“Bill makes our outstanding team of contributors and analysts even stronger,” “This Week” EP Jonathan Greenberger said, calling Kristol an “original thinker with a unique perspective.”
He’ll appear regularly on “This Week” and other special political events. His decade-long stint at Fox News ended last summer after his and Roger Ailes’ relationship reportedly soured.
Upon Kristol’s departure, Fox told Business Insider that Ailes liked Kristol and didn’t recall a “specific or negative incident” between them.
Kristol’s move from Fox News to becoming a regular panelist on ABC’s signature Sunday show is a trading places of sorts: longtime “This Week” panelist George Will jumped from ABC to Fox News last year.
