Bill Hemmer Re-Signs With Fox News

Bill HemmerFox News has signed anchor Bill Hemmer to a multi-year deal, FNC Chairman Roger Ailes announced today.

Hemmer will continue hosting “America’s Newsroom” from 9-11amET alongside Martha MacCallum, and also agreed this past September to host the 1pmET hour on a temporary basis until the debut of a new show in that timeslot.

“Bill Hemmer is a fantastic all-around newsman and a tremendous talent. One of his great gifts is his ability to work so well with everyone — there isn’t an hour in our news lineup that Bill couldn’t anchor. He’s the consummate team player,” Ailes said in a statement.

“There is no better boss in America than Roger Ailes. I’m proud to work for him and my wonderful, hardworking colleagues at FNC,” Hemmer said.

Hemmer joined Fox News in 2005, and has covered many major stories, including the Boston Marathon bombing, the Newtown school shootings, the earthquake in Haiti and political elections. Before Fox, he spent 10 years at CNN as an anchor.
