Brian Williams will make his return to TV tomorrow, but over the weekend he was preoccupied with the wedding of his only daughter, Allison, to CollegeHumor founder Ricky Van Veen.
Williams, 27, and Van Veen, 34, tied the knot at a remote ranch in Wyoming Saturday. The New York Post reports even guests weren’t aware of the super-secret nuptials. The wedding had been postponed as the family dealt with the fallout from Brian Williams’ NBC News suspension last February.
The ceremony was officiated by Tom Hanks, whose wife Rita Wilson plays Williams’ mother on the HBO show Girls. John Mayer performed for guests. The celebrity-filled guest list included Girls creator and star Lena Dunham, Bravo’s Andy Cohen, singer Katy Perry and Late Night host Seth Meyers.
Meyers interviewed Allison Williams at an event at the 92nd Street Y back in February. She called her dad, “an honest man, a truthful man” who “cares so much about journalism.” Allison posted the following picture to her Instagram page:
