Basic Cable Ranker: Week of March 11

Fox News was the most-watched basic cable network for the week of March 11, marking 10 straight weeks at No. 1 in total viewers, and nine straight weeks at No. 1 in prime time.

Compared to the same week in 2018, Fox News was +1 percent this past week in total prime time viewers, -1 percent in total day viewers, -13 percent in the prime time demo, and -12 percent among adults 25-54 across total day.

The first week of March Madness 2018 took place during the comparable week last year (week of March 12, 2018). The men’s tournament is starting a week later this year.

MSNBC finished No. 3 in total prime time viewers and No. 2 in total day viewers this past week. Versus the comparable week in 2018, the network was -8 percent in total prime time viewers, -6 percent in total day viewers. The decline was steeper in the demo, -29 percent in the prime time demo and -30 percent among adults 25-54 across total day.

CNN slipped a bit this past week, finishing No. 11 in total prime time viewers, and No. 7 in total day viewers. Relative to the same week in 2018, CNN was -16 percent in total prime time viewers, -17 percent in total day viewers, -31 percent in the prime time demo and -29 percent among adults 25-54 across total day.
