Another week, another win for Fox News in total viewers.
FNC was No. 1 in cable during prime time, and No. 1 in total day for the sixth consecutive week, and had to fend off fierce competition from TNT (2018 NBA All-Star Weekend), and from NBCSN with its Pyeongchang Olympics coverage.
Fox News was No. 1 cable news network for in-depth coverage of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, and five of the top 10 cable telecasts of the week in total viewers included Special Report with Bret Baier and Shepard Smith Reporting.
But compared to the same week last year, Fox News was -18 percent in prime time viewers, and -14 percent in total day viewers.
Fox News ranked No. 6 among adults 25-54 in prime time.
MSNBC, which ranked No. 4 in prime time, posted +11 percent total prime time viewer growth from the same week in 2017. The network ranked No. 3 in total day viewers, and posted +12 percent year-over-year viewer growth in the daypart. MSNBC ranked No. 11 among adults 25-54 in prime time.
CNN was -27 percent in total prime time viewers, and -23 percent in total day viewers versus the comparable week in 2017. It was still a top 10 basic cable network for the week in total viewers, and ranked No. 17 among adults 25-54 in prime time. CNN managed to beat MSNBC in the demo across total day.
HLN was -9 percent in total prime time viewers, and -7 percent in total day viewers compared to the same week last year.
