ABC’s Senior Law and Justice Correspondent Jim Avila has been selected to receive the prestigious 2008 Broadcast Journalist of the Year Award from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Avila will be honored at the NAHJ’s 23rd Annual Noche de Triunfos Journalism Awards Gala at the National Press Club on Sept. 12. Avila has been with ABC News since 2004 and, before that, was a correspondent for NBC News for eight years. Avila joined NBC from KNBC in 1996.
