In addition to scoring the most-watched nonsports cable program ever, Fox News saw across-the-board growth in August. The cable news leader–164 months at No. 1–was up +13 percent in viewers for total day and up +34 in prime time. Among the A25-54 demo, FNC was up +7 for the day and up a whopping +64 percent in prime time. As the 2016 primaries heat up, and the Donald Trump show continues, Fox News Channel was the No. 1 basic cable network in prime time.

The ratings for August 2015:

  • Prime time (Mon-Sun): 2,381,000 Total Viewers / 524,000 A25-54
  • Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1,188,000 Total Viewers / 238,000 A25-54

The O’Reilly Factor (the No. 1 cable news show in viewers) and On the Record with Greta Van Susteren also saw double-digit growth. Fox News, which had the Top 10 cable news programs in both viewers and the A25-54 demo, beat CNN and MSNBC combined in both total viewers and the demo in both total day and prime time.
