Another Colts-Broncos Lead-in Gives 60 Minutes a Big Night

Scott Pelley‘s investigation into the U.S. Government’s security clearance process kicked off Sunday’s 60 Minutes and helped make it a Top 5 show last week. The episode also featured Lesley Stahl’s report on the Large Hadron Collider and a Charlie Rose profile of the Broadway hit Hamilton and its writer/star, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

A close NFL game between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts provided a nice lead-in, as 60 Minutes averaged its largest audience since Jan. 11, which, interestingly, also had a lead-in of a Colts/Broncos game (the Colts won that one too, advancing to the AFC Championship Game).

15.8 million people watched Sunday’s show, giving it a 9.7 rating / 15 share in households and making it the fourth most-watched show on broadcast TV in viewers, and No. 9 in the A25-54 demo for the week.
