Andrew Ross Sorkin, Maria Bartiromo Are Go-to Journalists Among Twitter-Using CEOs

The D.C.-based strategic communications firm Rational 360 released its Influencer Index today showing the top 50 journalists that are followed by major CEOs follow on Twitter.

CNBC is the most relied upon news outlet for those CEOs, followed by The New York Times and Bloomberg. Additionally, 64 percent of journalists followed by CEOs write about business.

CNBC Squawk Box co-anchor/New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin came in at No. 1. Maria Bartiromo, host FBN’s Mornings with Maria and Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures was No. 3. Recode’s Kara Swisher finished in between Sorkin and Bartiromo at No. 2.

22 percent of Twitter-using CEOs from the those lists follow Sorkin, while 17 percent follow Bartiromo.

Of the top 50, 21 are TV newsers. Out of those 21, 8 hail from CNBC, 5 are from Bloomberg, 3 from Fox Business/Fox News, 3 from CNN, 1 from MSNBC, and 1 from NBC News. The remaining are journalists from print or digital outlets.
