Andrea Mitchell Doesn’t Approve of Hillary Clinton Using Her Voice in Ad

By Brian Flood

Hillary Clinton has a new campaign ad that features an NBC Nightly News clip of Andrea Mitchell discussing how Kevin McCarthy‘s committee was created to “destroy her candidacy.” While this seems to happen every election, NBC News does not approve of the ad. Mitchell addressed the situation on her show this afternoon.

“I just want to point out they have used a little bit of my voice, a little bit of Savannah Guthrie’s. NBC News in no way authorized them to use any of our material and we had no idea this was coming,” Mitchell said.

The Clinton ad also features a Fox News logo during footage of a McCarthy news conference. TV networks aren’t typically fans of their journalists being used in campaign ads. Back in 2012, several networks had to ask Mitt Romney to knock it off.
