Alisyn Camerota Set to Join CNN’s ‘New Day’ on Permanent Basis

By Brian Flood

Alisyn Camerota has been named the new co-anchor of “New Day” alongside Chris Cuomo. She will officially start on Jan. 19, but has been filling in for Kate Bolduan, who is on maternity leave. Camerota, who will permanently replace Bolduan, has been been thanking her supporters non-stop on Twitter.

The story was first reported by The Wrap, which is also reporting that Javi Morgado will be the new executive producer of “New Day.” Morgado replaces Matt Frucci, who was a victim of CNN’s recent layoffs. Bolduan becomes a co-anchor of the 11am show “@ThisHour” with John Berman on Jan. 26, replacing Michaela Pereira who is also joining “New Day” as a co-anchor.
