MSNBC has published a press release touting the fact that it was the first cable news network to report Al-Zarqawi’s death. “Last night’s coverage proves yet again that MSNBC is the place for breaking news 24-7,” it says.

MSNBC.com was the first American TV news site to post the breaking news. The site “broke the news online at 3:07 a.m., one half hour before the news appeared on CNN.com, and nearly an hour before ABCNews.com, Yahoo! News and CBSNews.com.” How? Global staffing, with an awake and alert dotcom team in London…
