Affiliate Reporting Gives Fox News First Access to Marathon Bomb Photos

By Merrill Knox

Investigative reporting at the Atlanta Fox O&O made Fox News the first national news outlet with access to the photos of the Boston marathon bomb.

Dale Russell, an investigative reporter for WAGA, was the first to obtain the photos, TVSpy reports. They aired on the local Fox affiliate on the 6:30 p.m. newscast and first aired nationally at the top of Shepard Smith’s 7pmET Fox News program.

The photos were included in an FBI bulletin issued to law enforcement Tuesday. After the bulletin was obtained by the Associated Press, the photos appeared on the other cable news networks, as well as on the network morning shows this morning.
