Abrams: “We’re Just Starting The Changes” At MSNBC (& He Loves Joe Unplugged)

By Brian

Dan Abrams says his new MSNBC GM job has been “very time consuming” but “great.” Here’s an excerpt from today’s Imus in the Morning:

IMUS: We’re talking with Dan Abrams, who left a few months ago to run MSNBC. How is that going?

ABRAMS: It’s doing well. Very time consuming, a lot more finance and human resources than I ever thought I’d have to deal with. But it’s great. It’s been interesting. We’re just starting though, we’re just starting the changes, so we’re moving forward and the key for me will be results. I want to–

IMUS: Are you the one who made the changes in the Joe Scarborough show?

ABRAMS: Joe and I and the producer and his team Chris Licht worked together. You like ’em?

IMUS: It’s better, yeah. I do like him, my wife loves him. i don’t know whether she loves him or not, but she likes him a lot.

ABRAMS: These little taped vignettes I think he’s doing are great. He’s doing these little taped segments on his show where he’s just showing that he’s really a fun guy, and he’s not taking himself seriously and he’s just sort of making fun of various situations, and I think it’s totally humanizing him. And I think it just shows, it just allows him to show that he’s a good guy.
